Local experiences

Stop off at the Condamine market

There's nothing like joining Monegasques at the Marché de la Condamine in the morning, when they're thinking about the dishes they're going to cook. It's as much a meeting place as it is the perfect place to have lunch and savour local dishes such as barbagiuàn, pissaladière or fougasse. Below the Rocher, in the shadow of the Princely Palace, the Place de la Condamine is home to a number of cafés and restaurants, making it the perfect spot for a gourmet break.

Experience local know-how

In the heart of a region where oyster farms are few and far between, Les Perles de Monte-Carlo offers a simple, gourmet way to enjoy exceptional oysters bred in Monaco, as well as all kinds of seafood, from clams to sea bream. Located at the end of the Fontvieille harbour breakwater, with the Oceanographic Museum in the background, it's a unique and original experience that's well worth the diversions!

Lovers of local experiences can satisfy their curiosity by pushing open the door of the Chocolaterie de Monaco, an institution founded in 1920 and Fournisseur Breveté to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince. Monegasque crowns, princely rocks and other gianduiotti can be savoured on the premises or taken home to make friends and family salivate.

On the Port Hercule, facing the sea, the Brasserie de Monaco invites you to sample its beer brewed on site from organic malts in a festive atmosphere. A moment of relaxation and conviviality in the heart of the Principality like no other.

Soak up Monegasque flavours

Under the pine trees of Place du Palais, Castelroc invites you to discover its Mediterranean cuisine inspired by local traditions, in particular Monegasque-style stockfish, or stocafi. Another must-try dish can be found as you wander through the colourful streets of the old town, at the restaurant La Montgolfière, with its menu of traditional dishes revisited. Also in Monaco-Ville, the new restaurant Aux deux moines serves local cuisine, including socca, farcis, barbagiuans, pan bagna and pissaladière. In the heart of the alleyways on the Rock, U Cavagnetu has been an institution since 1967, distilling Monegasque dishes for three generations. In Port Hercule, U Luvassu offers a menu directly inspired by the morning's catch: fresh fish, Mediterranean lobster or seafood platters, all in a setting as idyllic as it is relaxed.
