Italy

With Italy practically on Monaco's doorstep, it's hard to miss out on the famous and much-loved transalpine cuisine. At Larvotto, newcomer Da Valentino bends over backwards to reinvent chic Italian, offering a lunchtime menu, a relaxed aperitivo accompanied by a pianist, and dinner with the option of extending the evening until 3am. An institution in Genoa since 1939, renowned for its emblematic pesto and endorsed by numerous celebrities, Zeffirino , located in rue du Portier, is a gourmet's delight. Nearby, Cipriani Monte-Carlo offers Italian cuisine in an elegant nautical setting, with generous dishes.

If you're looking for a bit of height, head to Norma , an Italian restaurant perched on the roof terrace of the La Condamine market. Fans of transalpine dishes will be spoilt for choice when they wander around this district, between the warm atmosphere of Reginèlla, a generous trattoria nestling in rue Grimaldi, and Il Pacchero , an elegant restaurant where Italian cuisine is expressed in all its finesse. Hanging raw hams, wheels of Parmesan cheese, a terrace with olive trees: there's no doubt you're in Maya Mia , a traditional trattoria on Place de la Crémaillère. Fans of uninterrupted views will opt for Caffè Milano , where modernism and Italian tradition come together, with the port of Hercules as a backdrop. Finally, for a dinner in a unique setting inside the Casino de Monte-Carlo, Le Train Bleu unveils its gourmet Italian-inspired flavours.

In Mareterra, Marco is a real invitation to discover Italian cuisine at its best in a unique setting overlooking the marina. Mediterranean

In Monaco, the Mediterranean is a special guest who never turns down requests... It inspires several cuisines, starting with the Lebanese cuisine ofEm Sherif , open at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo during the summer season. A voyage of the senses with a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean. Greece is also in the limelight with Gaia and its cuisine that is as refined as it is tasty. At the Fairmont Monte-Carlo, Amù - which means love in Monegasque - is a tribute to Monaco and its local heritage. The culinary jewel on the roof of the Hotel blends the flavours of the Italian and French Riviera. Le Deli Robuchon , meanwhile, unveils menus designed to reflect modern cuisine by honouring timeless classics and showcasing Mediterranean cuisine. Finally, the Maona Monte-Carlo offers a stopover in Mykonos with exhilarating DJ salt and generous Greek cuisine from lunch to dinner.

French

French cuisine, often cited as one of the tastiest, is not to be outdone in the Principality. Café de Paris Monte-Carlo does it justice and remains a must. The Brasserie de Monaco is an ode to French gastronomy. In the heart of the Métropole Shopping Centre, Chez Pierre offers traditional French cuisine with an international influence in a discreet and cosy atmosphere. On Rue du Portier, the gastronomic restaurant Robuchon Monaco offers the essential dishes that made the late multi-starred chef such a success: mashed potatoes and caviar crab remain on the menu, and the Japanese influence so dear to Joël Robuchon continues to be felt with dishes based on raw fish. In the heart of the La Condamine district, Le Relais de Venise delights the taste buds of locals and visitors alike, thanks in particular to its inimitable steak pommes allumettes and Parisian bistro decor, for which it has been renowned for 60 years. On the La Condamine market square, Café Maï offers French bistro-style cuisine in an elegant and refined setting.
