Versailles Award 2026: Marlow named among ‘The World’s Most Beautiful Restaurants’

Just over a year after opening, Marlow Monte-Carlo, the most British of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group’s establishments, has been recognised by the prestigious Prix Versailles, which has just named the restaurant on its 2026 List of the ‘World’s Most Beautiful Restaurants’. From Dubai to London, via Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Helsinki: just 16 restaurants feature on this coveted list, which was unveiled on Monday 1 June. Marlow is the only restaurant in the Principality of Monaco to be included.

Regarding Marlow, the Prix Versailles press release, dated 1 June 2026, notes:

“Ideally situated on the central square of Mareterra, Monte-Carlo’s new district reclaimed from the sea, the Marlow restaurant seems to have always been there, like an anchor, a meeting place for locals and visitors alike. Inside, artist and architect Hugo Toro immerses us in British elegance through a fictional character – a subtle reminder of the presence of English holidaymakers on the Riviera from the mid-18th century onwards. An unexpected historical depth, offering a warm and sophisticated, almost eccentric setting, as evidenced by the spaces surrounding the sculptural central bar, which are like cabinets of curiosities. The design blends a club atmosphere with a contemporary twist; the bespoke furniture brings different eras together. These influences come to life in a kitchen where English classics reinvent a way of life.”

Supported by UNESCO, the Prix Versailles Restaurants honours the world’s finest contemporary achievements, combining remarkable architecture, creativity, a strong connection to the environment, and a menu in harmony with the surroundings.

Inclusion on this list enables Marlow restaurant to compete for one of the three 2026 World Titles, to be awarded at the end of the year: the Versailles Prize, Interior Award and Exterior Award.
