The Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo unveils ‘Woodland Rêverie’, its summer art installation, which can be viewed now in the Lobby Bar
The illusion of a vertical landscape
This summer, the Lobby Bar at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo is being transformed into an artistic, vertical landscape, almost surreal. Several slender columns, ranging from 2 to 4 metres in height and clad in mirrors, rise from the centre of the space, capturing the light and reflecting both the architecture and the vibrant atmosphere of the venue. They act as vanishing points, drawing the eye upwards towards the summit. Plants such as green hydrangeas, anthuriums and amaranths, amongst others, cascade down these structures, punctuated by touches of pastel yellow to create a graphic, sculptural natural display in a luminous colour palette. Amidst the reflections, the plants and the sunlit hues, the eye is lost, wavering between contemplation and movement.
Two forces in harmony
A sensitive interpretation of our times, this Métropole Mood explores the contrast between a society in perpetual motion and a growing need to reconnect with nature. The mirrors reflect this acceleration, this visual whirlwind where the image takes centre stage, whilst the plants provide a breath of fresh air, an invitation to slow down and refocus. This duality gives rise to a setting that is both powerful and immersive, where one is taken by surprise, almost disoriented, before rediscovering a sense of calm.
A night to reveal itself
Conceived by Perrine GUYONNET, each Métropole Mood emerges from an instinctive creative process, fuelled by mood boards, materials, images and inspiration drawn not only from the seasons but also from culture and fashion. The setting comes to life in a single night, revealing a completely reinvented world at dawn. A moment suspended in time, where guests, taken aback, pause, hesitate and almost ask themselves: has the setting always been there?
Opaline, the cocktail interpretation of ‘Woodland Rêverie’
Inspired by this setting, the Opaline cocktail captures in a glass the subtle balance between nature and reflection. Crafted from tarragon-infused vodka, apple juice and citrus notes, it unfolds a fresh and elegant botanical palette, enhanced by the sweetness of basil and a delicately spicy hint of mustard. Its airy texture, achieved through a dry shake, gives it a light, silky foam, before being served over a large ice cube in an Old-Fashioned glass. The Opaline cocktail and its mocktail version embody the spirit of ‘Woodland Rêverie’, blending herbaceous freshness, fruity vibrancy and a lingering aromatic finish.
With the Métropole Moods, the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo reaffirms its bold and creative spirit. The seasons are brought to life through aesthetic and artistic displays, where every detail inspires contemplation, enchantment and emotion.
