The Fairmont Monte-Carlo has once again been recognised by Green Globe
This international accolade recognises the Hotel’s long-standing commitment and its consistent environmental approach. A benchmark in luxury hospitality in the Mediterranean, the Fairmont Monte-Carlo stands out as much for its exceptional location as for its pioneering role in the development of thalassotherapy in Monaco from as early as 1975.
Having just celebrated half a century of history alongside Monaco, the Hotel remains committed in 2026 to a more responsible development model, driven by a commitment to continuous improvement. As a signatory to the Monaco Energy Transition Mission Pact, it is contributing in particular to the Principality’s target of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 55 per cent by 2030 compared with 1990 levels.
Sustainability is not a separate project from our core business: it is an integral part of it. With 596 rooms, over 5,000 m² of event space, four restaurants and one of the largest catering operations on the Côte d’Azur, our responsibility is commensurate with our environmental footprint. This new Green Globe certification recognises the Hotel’s approach and the commitment of all our teams in their day-to-day work.
The Fairmont Monte-Carlo’s commitment is reflected in concrete actions: choosing partners who share the same high standards, phasing out single-use plastics, and installing solar panels and LED lighting. Since 2025, the Fairmont Monte Carlo’s thalassotherapy facilities have also been connected to the Principality’s energy grid. The hotel is now looking ahead to 2027, ready to take on new challenges.
