The Cellars at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, as featured in Wine Spectator’s 2026 edition

With 300,000 bottles and over 11,000 different wines, displayed across an area of 1,^{500 m²}, the Cellars of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo have, for over 150 years, been one of the heritage and gastronomic jewels of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group. Carved out of the rock 12 metres below ground, on the initiative of Marie Blanc in 1874, and renovated in 2025, these cellars supply the resort’s thirty or so restaurants and bars, and also host exclusive tours and exceptional dinners. The Cercle des Caves at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, launched last year, also brings together discerning wine connoisseurs for ultra-private wine-tasting evenings, inviting its members to discover rare wines and prestigious vintages. 

These are just some of the factors that have enabled the Hôtel de Paris Cellars to receive the ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ from Wine Spectator in 2026. This prestigious accolade attests to the quality and depth of the wines offered by the establishments that receive it, and in this instance pays particular tribute to the Burgundy, Champagne and Bordeaux wines that feature most prominently on the list at the Caves de l’Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. This is yet another accolade from the specialist American magazine *Wine Spectator*, adding to those already bestowed upon Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer by this leading trade publication. The restaurant Le Grill*, at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, had received this same title in 2025 for the wine selection offered by the establishment. As for Le Louis XV-Alain Ducasse***, it was awarded the Grand Award – the magazine’s highest honour – as early as 1995. The three-Michelin-starred restaurant is also the only restaurant within the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group to have received this prestigious title.
