The 119th edition, marked by global excellence and Monegasque pride
Organised by the Société Monégasque pour l’Exploitation du Tournoi de Tennis, the event is the first major European tournament in the ATP Masters 1000 series and marks a key milestone in the international calendar each year.
Just like the Monaco Grand Prix or the Monaco Yacht Show, the Principality will be buzzing with the tournament’s excitement for over a week, kicking off the Monegasque events season.
Following a look back at the 2025 edition, marked by the first victory of Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and a record attendance of over 150,000 spectators, David Massey announced that the 119th edition will open with the official draw, to be held on Friday 3 April at 5pm in Monaco. The ceremony will be launched by the defending champion and broadcast live on Monaco Info.
High hopes for Monegasque players
Although the final list of the 45 players directly admitted to the main draw will not be confirmed until 10 March 2026, the deadline for entries with the ATP, the tournament director is already confident about the exceptional quality of the line-up for this 119th edition of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.
Last year, the Franco-Monegasque pair of Manuel Guinard and Romain Arneodo, who received a wild card, caused a sensation by winning a historic doubles title. In the same discipline, Hugo Nys also made a name for himself by winning the Rome Masters 1000 with his Polish partner Jan Zielinski in 2023.
In the singles, all eyes will be on Valentin Vacherot. The Monegasque player made his mark by securing his first victory in the main draw of a Masters 1000 against Jan-Lennard Struff at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, before confirming his form a few months later by winning the Rolex
Shanghai Masters. Now ranked 25th in the world, he will qualify directly for the main draw in 2026 and can count on the unwavering support of the Monegasque public.
They will also be reunited with the Davis Cup team in September for a decisive tie against Finland, with their sights set on reaching the first round of the Davis Cup World Group Qualifiers.
As is traditional for this first major event of the clay-court season, the majority of the top players on the ATP Tour are expected to attend. Spectators are particularly hoping for the return of major figures such as Carlos Alcaraz, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Novak Djokovic, not to mention Italy’s number one, Jannik Sinner, whose presence is sure to generate great excitement among Italian fans.
Monte-Carlo Beach Club reserved for players
In line with its commitment to offering players exceptional hospitality, the tournament organisers have once again secured exclusive use of the prestigious Monte-Carlo Beach Club, which will serve as the ‘Players’ Village’ for the second consecutive year. Having become a true haven, this space is once again entirely reserved for the players, their teams and their families, guaranteeing them a living environment that is unique in the world. This renewal confirms the special attention paid to the players’ well-being and fully illustrates the excellence and prestige of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.
Driven as ever by this commitment to excellence, the tournament is further enhancing its facilities: the players’ gym will now be attached to the Players’ Village and will cover an area of over 320 m². In addition, the Players’ Village will be expanded to include a quiet zone, designed as a special area for recovery and tranquillity.
The Monte-Carlo Bay remains, however, the tournament’s official hotel.
David Massey emphasised: “We look forward to welcoming the best players on the ATP Tour for nine days of fierce competition, and to welcoming fans in our stands as well as around the world via our international broadcast.”
He also added: “We have all the ingredients to deliver another sensational edition.”
New features of this 119th edition
In response to ever-increasing attendance and to offer a better on-site experience, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters is innovating. Among the main new features of this edition, the spectator experience has also been enhanced. At the heart of the commercial village, four screens will allow spectators to follow the matches live. The entertainment area has been completely redesigned and will now feature a giant screen, sun loungers, a picnic area, a refreshment bar and various recreational spaces, creating a real hub of activity within the tournament.
As part of the infrastructure modernisation programme, the top floor of the MCCC Clubhouse, formerly the press centre, will be closed in 2026. The press centre is in fact being moved to the Pavillon de la Bergerie: levels -3 and -2 will be dedicated to broadcast operations, level 1 will retain its function as a press conference room, whilst the 2nd and 3rd floors will accommodate the media.
On the technological front, the Electronic Line Calling Live system, renowned for its accuracy with an average error rate of 0.02 per match across the entire clay-court season, will be used for the second time in the Principality.
In terms of broadcasting, the tournament will enjoy extensive coverage in France: full coverage on Eurosport throughout the week, one match a day on France.tv and the final broadcast on France4. All three courts will be fully televised.
As part of its television production, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters will install a system called HawkVision, which involves the deployment of 60 digitally synchronised cameras, offering a unique view of the court directly behind the players.
Partnerships
Alongside title partner Rolex, the tournament is proud to announce the extension of its partnerships with Emirates, Maserati, Generali, Adecco, Dunlop, Yokohama, Minuty and Tecnifibre, who are renewing their commitment and trust. This loyalty is a testament to the strength of the relationships forged over the years and the event’s enduring appeal.
The Tournament is also delighted to welcome a new partner, the Italian pasta brand Rummo, which is joining the adventure for this edition, as well as to celebrate the return of Champagne House Lanson among the official partners.
These partnerships contribute significantly to the tournament’s reputation and excellence, associating its image with leading brands that share the same values of high standards and prestige.
Renewed charitable initiative
The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters is also delighted to continue its charitable initiative alongside BNP Paribas through the “Points for Change” programme, which combines sporting performance with philanthropic commitment.
“Since 2023, the tournament has supported the GEMLUC charity, whose mission to fight cancer remains at the heart of our charitable work. True to the memory of the Baroness de Massy, Melanie’s dear mother and much-loved President, we are naturally renewing our commitment to this vital cause.”
The funds raised during this edition will help finance external breast prostheses following mastectomy, to be used whilst awaiting breast reconstruction, for patients treated for breast cancer at the CHPG.
