The Grimaldi Forum Monaco has been awarded the 2025 ‘Handipact’ Trophy

This award is part of the ongoing Handipact initiative led by the Department of Social Affairs and Health, spearheaded by Government Councillor and Minister Christophe Robino (pictured left) and implemented by the Disability Officer, Lionel Galfré (pictured, right). It was presented to the Managing Director of the Grimaldi Forum, Sylvie Biancheri (pictured centre), in the presence of Gaël Rivière, Olympic blind football champion and President of the French Handisport Federation, who came to share an inspiring personal account.

A vision: making culture accessible to all

ISO 14001 and ISO 20121 certified, the Grimaldi Forum places inclusion at the heart of its corporate social responsibility approach. It guarantees seamless and safe accessibility: personalised assistance, wheelchairs, lifts connecting the car parks, adapted toilets, facilities for the visually impaired and magnetic induction hearing systems.
This focus on hospitality stems from a firm belief: culture should be experienced and shared by everyone.

An inclusive cultural programme praised

The “Couleurs!” 2025 exhibition enabled the Grimaldi Forum Monaco to roll out an inclusive and ambitious programme, supported by its official partner CMB Monaco and delivered in collaboration with several local organisations.

Among the initiatives recognised were adapted and multisensory tours:

• AMAPEI (21 July): sensory exploration, guided physical expression and opportunities for discussion for around fifteen participants.
• ARRIMAGE (22 July): a tour for blind and visually impaired visitors featuring 3D tactile reproductions, audio descriptions and an immersive “feel and hear the colours” space. Tactile features and a Braille label were subsequently incorporated into the exhibition.
• Monaco Disease Power (23 July): a trail combining visual and olfactory perception, followed by a creative workshop for teenagers and young adults with Down’s syndrome.
• Happy Hand (27 August): a multi-sensory and interactive tour for 12 people with various disabilities.

Accessibility for deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors

A video in French Sign Language, shown at the start of the tour, provided direct access to the exhibition design and the curator’s intentions.

An accolade that encourages us to go further 

Through this award, the Prince’s Government recognises the work carried out by the Grimaldi Forum.
