Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer and EHL Hospitality Business School celebrate their first class of certified employees
This is one of the first concrete results of the partnership signed on 20 November 2024 between Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer and EHL. On Thursday 5 March, the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort's Salon Nirvana was the setting for the presentation of certificates to 15 Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer employees who had completed a course dedicated to emotional intelligence.
The programme, which was custom-designed by the EHL teams as part of this partnership, aims to raise participants' awareness of the role of emotions in everyday working life and to capitalise on them to improve commitment and satisfaction at work, the quality of professional relationships and the quality of service, via a range of workshop-modules approaching emotions from several angles. The Group's certified managers, from the top management of the four hotels, benefited from 4 group modules given in Monaco by EHL employees, as well as individual coaching sessions during the first quarter of 2025.
Following this initial success, the training will be offered again at the end of March to two other groups of SBM employees.
A partnership designed to boost the attractiveness of the hotel and restaurant sector
As a reminder, the partnership signed between Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer and the EHL Hospitality Business School has a dual objective: to increase the attractiveness of the hotel and restaurant sector, while encouraging the development of the skills of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer employees. This partnership between two institutions of excellence, founded more than 160 and 130 years ago respectively, focuses on four key areas:
. Deploying professional training courses within the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Resort with EHL
. Developing the attractiveness of the hotel and restaurant sector
. Create internship opportunities
. Set up career plans to support and retain talent
An alliance that illustrates the shared challenges faced by two historic institutions wishing to attract and support the talent of tomorrow. Each in its own field, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer and EHL Hospitality Business School embody excellence.
With almost 5,000 employees in 130 different professions, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer is the largest private employer in the Principality of Monaco, and one of the largest on the Côte d'Azur. Since 1863, the Group has been constantly renewing and innovating, and is now an international benchmark in the luxury hospitality sector. For its part, since 1893, EHL, formerly the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, has been a world benchmark in training, innovation and consultancy for the hospitality and services sector, and is a pioneer in teaching methods for the hotel and catering professions not only in Switzerland but throughout the world.
Employee training at the heart of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer's strategy
This certification, awarded by the EHL Hospitality Business School, enables its 15 Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer recipients to enrich and consolidate their professional curriculum. This development is fully in line with the development of the "We Are Monte-Carlo" Employer Brand, deployed by Sophie Vincent, Director of Human Resources, and her teams, under the impetus of Chairman Valeri. The opportunity offered to employees to benefit from high-quality training is in addition to other initiatives aimed at developing their professional skills, such as the creation of the "My SBM Academy" e-learning platform.
" The 'Emotional Intelligence' programme, tailor-made for SBM, is part of the launch of our future academy. It embodies the spirit and ambition of our future academy: to offer demanding, structuring and high value-added courses to support the development of our talents. In our businesses, Emotional Intelligence is a key skill, at the heart of customer relations, team management and the experience we want to deliver every day. The added value of this programme lies in the expertise of our partner EHL, with a strong academic dimension ", declared Sophie Vincent at the presentation of the certificates.
