Casino de Monte-Carlo receives top award at the European Casinos Awards 2026

The year 2026 could not have got off to a better start for Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer and its Casinos. From 18 to 21 January, a 17-strong delegation from the Group travelled to Barcelona for the ICE trade show, the prestigious annual gathering of gaming industry professionals. The European Casino Awards ceremony, organised by the European Casino Association (ECA), was held on 19 January, during which all the work carried out by the Casino de Monte-Carlo and Casino Café de Paris teams was rewarded.

Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer was awarded the coveted Best Overall Casino prize, which recognises the overall excellence of a casino based on a number of criteria, including the quality and variety of the games on offer, the user experience, customer service and player safety.

These criteria have been rigorously applied by the Monegasque Group's two casinos since the Casino de Monte-Carlo was founded in 1863. A true symbol of the Principality on the international scene, combining the thrill of gambling with sumptuous lounges that have even been used as film sets, the Casino de Monte-Carlo has been perpetuating the Monte-Carlo legend for over 162 years. In 2025, attendance at the Casino even increased by 8%* compared with the previous year. At the same time, attendance at the Casino Café de Paris rose by 7% over the same period. The Casino Café de Paris, which opened in 2016 and boasts almost 400 state-of-the-art slot machines, has for ten years now embodied the adrenalin and excitement of a modern, offbeat Monte-Carlo, offering the largest pool of slot machines on the Côte d'Azur and spectacular entertainment throughout the year. Its forthcoming renovation, due to be completed in spring 2027, will provide players with an even more modern and innovative gaming establishment. - From1 January to 13 October 2025

The Casino de Monte-Carlo's rich history and heritage, coupled with the Casino Café de Paris's unique entertainment and gaming experiences, make the Place du Casino a unique and increasingly attractive venue for tourists from all over the world; the My Monte-Carlo loyalty programme also recorded an 89% increase in new players in 2025, compared with the previous year.

A unique gaming offer intensified in 2025

The year 2025 was marked by a number of major events at the Casino Café de Paris, including the European premiere of Aristocrat Gaming's new Phoenix Link slot machines at the beginning of the year. Their arrival was celebrated with a show featuring 500 drones flying over the Place du Casino. In June, the famous King Kong gorilla took possession of the premises, at an inauguration co-organised with Light and Wonder, where dancers, acrobats and Lucky Wheel transported players to the heart of the jungle. Customers were also able to travel to the four corners of the world last September, at a special evening featuring a whole host of entertainment, dancers and themed cocktails. This was an opportunity for players to try and win one of the four trips on offer, to Kenya, Spain, Brazil or Japan.

For its part, the Casino de Monte-Carlo has further enhanced its offering worthy of the Great Art de Vivre, by opening its Monte-Carlo Cigar Club in May. In the heart of the Casino de Monte-Carlo, on the site of the former office of François Blanc, founder of the Société des Bains de Mer, this ultra-private club now welcomes the world's greatest cigar aficionados.

Casinos regularly awarded

Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer regularly makes a name for itself in the gaming industry. For example, the Casino de Monte-Carlo received the Best Customer Service award at the ICE Barcelona 2025 trade fair, while the Casino Café de Paris was named Best Live Entertainment. That same year, the two casinos also won Best Slot Team at the European Dealer Championship. The title of Best Overall Casino was also awarded to the Casino de Monte-Carlo at the Casino Awards at the Ice London 2022 show. In 2025, the Casino de Monte-Carlo also obtained "Green Globe" certification, which attests to all the initiatives undertaken by the establishment in favour of sustainable development, responsible gaming and the transmission of know-how.

I would like to extend my warmest congratulations and thanks to Cédric Lorenzi, General Manager of Gaming, and all his teams at the Casino de Monte-Carlo and the Casino Café de Paris, for this magnificent Best Overall Casino award, which was recently presented at the European Casino Awards in Barcelona. The efforts made day and night by all our employees in the SBM Gaming sector are helping to ensure that Monte-Carlo remains one of the world's leading gaming destinations.
