The program for the 2025 Monte Carlo Jazz Festival

As is tradition, the Monte Carlo Jazz Festival will kick off on November 20 with a concert featuring young talents from the Rainier III Academy, giving these up-and-coming artists the opportunity to perform on this legendary stage.

On November 21, Gabi Hartmann will set the tone for a traveling festival, blending jazz, pop, folk, and world music with her velvety voice. That same evening, the renowned Ibrahim Maalouf will pay tribute to the beloved Middle Eastern singer Oum Kalthoum, 50 years after her death, in a project inspired by the Arabian Nights.

Jazz will rediscover one of its cornerstones on November 22 with Stanley Clarke, a legend of the bass and double bass, who will then give way to Deluxe, a pop-funk phenomenon on the French scene.

On November 23, the Harlem Gospel Choir will give a beautiful performance of African-American gospel music, showcasing its most spiritual and militant aspects.

On November 24, French film critic and director Thierry Jousse will give a lecture, in partnership with the Monaco Audiovisual Institute, to highlight the links between jazz and cinema.
Lecture: “Jazz in Cinema” – €12
The evening of November 26 will feature island rhythms with Jamaican pianist Monty Alexander. A legend of jazz and reggae, influenced by both North American styles and Caribbean rhythms, he will be followed by the sensual and romantic salsa of Yuri Buenaventura.

A veritable embodiment of contemporary jazz pop elegance, Swiss singer Lea Maria Fries will open for Morcheeba, the cult British trip-hop band of the 1990s known for two memorable albums, Who Can You Trust and Big Calm, on November 27.

On November 28, renowned barefoot organist Rhoda Scott will showcase her talent, accompanied by ethereal vocalist David Linx. Next up is Michel Jonasz and his soulful style, reinventing his old hits with friends Manu Katché on drums and Jean-Yves d'Angelo on keyboards.

Finally, the festival will close on November 29 on a poetic note with the quartet Les Egarés (Sissoko, Segal, Parisien, and Peirani), born out of a jam session combining jazz and traditional music, and the extraordinary voice of Asaf Avidan, somewhere between raw folk and visceral lyricism.
